What to wear to exercise during pregnancy?

What should you wear to exercise during pregnancy?  Most experts agree it is important to continue to exercising during pregnancy, but comfort and style becoming challenging as the months go on.  Especially late in the third trimester, women often feel they have nothing flattering to wear to the gym, making it harder to stick with their pregnancy exercise routine. Here are some tips for what works best to flatter your belly, and keep you comfortable for any pregnancy workout routine!

Tip 1:  Choose figure flattering styles that fit close to the belly!  Ruching and a body-conscious fit is much more flattering during pregnancy than billowy, shapeless styles.  There’s no reason you can’t put fashion first when choosing your maternity exercise wardrobe.

Tip 2:  Choose tops with a long length. As your belly grows, you’ll want to be able to move with ease, and yet keep your belly covered.  Look for stretchy fabrics, ruching, or banded bottoms.  Loose and flowing tops are nice, but may not keep you covered in yoga!

Tip 3:  Choose your support garments and your workout clothes separately!  Your bust and belly will change in size considerably.  If your pregnancy workout clothes are linked to your bra size, you’ll outgrow them fast.  Look for tops that will fit the entire 40 weeks, and postpartum too.  See how Kelly’s top fit her well, and kept her “dancing for two” at Zumba – her favorite exercise during pregnancy!

Tip 4:  Choose bright, fun, vibrant colors and have fun with your pregnancy wardrobe!  This is a time for celebration, so don’t wear your hubby’s oversized t-shirt.  Wear something cute to exercise during pregnancy!
